To celebrate California's first annual Harvey Milk Day on Saturday May 22, WOW reporter Damiana Garcia went to the official Harvey Milk Day party at Madame Tussauds on Hollywood Blvd. At the party she hobnobbed with luminaries from both Hollywood and the political world, including Oscar-winning "Milk" screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, "Milk" co-producer Dan Jinks (who spoke at the event with producing partner Bruce Cohen), party emcees Bruce Vilanch and Christine O'Leary, "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 1's Ongina (also appearing on Logo's "RuPaul's Drag U" this summer!), "The L Word"'s Daniela Sea, "The Big Gay Sketch Show"'s Stephen Guarino and Nicol Paone, Golden Globe and Emmy-winning "Grey Gardens" director Michael Sucsy, Harvey Milk's nephew Stuart Milk (founder of the Milk Foundation), gay California Assembly Speaker John Perez, NJ Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, Scott Hall of the Gay American Heroes Foundation and San Diego City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez. And it being Madame Tussauds, Damiana even got to check in with President Obama's wax likeness about his stance on Prop 8 and repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell.
